A born leader
River Nygryn is a cybersecurity, technology, artificial intelligence and digital asset expert, executive advisor, speaker and educator with more than 17 years of experience helping organisations navigate complex technology, security and business challenges.
Her career spans financial services and payments, healthcare and aged care, technology, blockchain and digital assets, government and regulation. River has held senior executive roles including Chief Information Security Officer, Chief Technology Officer and Chief Operating Officer, with experience across organisations such as Macquarie Group, Ramsay Health Care, HammondCare and BullionFX.
River currently serves as Chief Technology Officer of the Command Ridge Virtual Asset Authority, where she is helping establish the technology, cybersecurity, data and regulatory foundations of a digital asset regulator in the Republic of Naoero. She brings together technical expertise, board-level thinking and hands-on delivery experience across cybersecurity, AI governance, data governance, privacy, digital assets, operational resilience, risk and business transformation.
River works with organisations through keynote speaking, executive education, strategic advisory and delivery services. Her work includes AI governance and audits, virtual CISO and CTO leadership, cybersecurity strategy, data governance, technology transformation, digital asset advisory and executive risk oversight.
She is also an experienced television guest and media commentator who makes complex technology and cyber risks clear, practical and relevant to the public. Her educational content on privacy, scams, cybersecurity and AI has reached more than one million people, and she develops accessible courses that help individuals use technology more confidently and protect themselves online.
